Kristyan Kouri teaches in the departments of Sociology and Gender and Women’s Studies at California State University, Northridge. While Dr. Kouri’s early studies focused on black/white interracial families, her current research work examines the interconnections between gender rules, emotional distress, and female perpetrated intimate partner violence. She has also written 18 editorials for the Los Angeles Daily News and its sister newspapers.
