Kristyan Kouri, Ph.D is a sociologist who teaches in the departments of sociology and gender & women’s studies at Cal State University Northridge. Her sociological research work focuses on education, women & crime, and  black/white interracial families. A public sociologist, Dr. Kouri writes about a variety of different social issues in an attempt to increase public awareness and bring about social change.  She has written over 15 articles that have been published in the Los Angeles Daily News and its sister newspapers.
